CSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting and ANZET Meeting
Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand
The Challenge
If you’re an interventional cardiologist, you might attend the CSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) every year, a three-day event that brings together leading experts in cardiac health. For even more interventional content, you also might attend the ANZET Meeting - held two days before the ASM in the exact same venue. Despite the crossover, these were separate events with different registration processes and sponsors.
Interventional cardiologists would often attend both, but when the ANZET Meeting extended itself to three days, many found the cost and scheduling too prohibitive. Registration numbers for ANZET began to drop - and sponsorship engagement along with it. The challenge was to find a solution that made things simpler (and cheaper) for delegates who wanted to attend both.
The Solution
To address these issues, we worked closely with the CSANZ Board and ANZET Committee to create an integrated event strategy that made things easier for delegates of both meetings, while still retaining the unique identity and purpose of each.
A complementary structure was designed, so ANZET could deliver both specialised and general interventional content, including abstracts that were previously only at the ASM. We also created a unified sponsorship offering and streamlined registration and pricing, revising fees to encourage the attendance of both events. With smarter financial planning, joint marketing and a synced-up registration system, we created a seamless experience for all stakeholders.
The Outcome
The main reason this integrated approach was able to work at all was because of the long-term partnerships we already held with both ANZET and CSANZ. Thanks to trusted relationships between all parties, both meetings are now recognised as the premier cardiology event in the region.
Registration for both meetings rose significantly, and savings were made by reducing the meeting days and consolidating the logistics for both events. While unified behind the scenes, each event had an individual branding and identity - distinct yet cohesive for both events. Our partnership continues under contract through to 2029.
